Method #10 This Wiki World

Wiki is a fast way that people can access to edit, save, and share information with the click of a button. It would be useful for libraries by have a wiki account by sharing information dealing with the library. For example this would be a great resource to sharing information with others who work in the Access Services. This can be useful to the library by adding ideas or sharing informational links with more resourceful information. With the world and technology moving in the fast paced direction that it is, it is good to have a website that will allow you to share information with groups that are easily accessable to others within the group.

  1. Hello -- I would like to point out that wiki is actually short for "wikiwiki" which means "quick" in Hawaiian. Wikipedia is certainly a great example of a wiki, but it is just one of many wikis being used today. I hope that you will consider re-visiting the lesson on wikis in "A Dozen Ways to Two-Step" so that you might better understand what wikis are and the advantages they offer. Or, if you'd like me to point you to other resources for learning about wikis, please let me know and I am more than happy to do that. Thank you very much, Naomi
